Food Bank Collection
Every day large numbers of people go hungry in the UK and food poverty has become an increasing concern in London as poverty increases.
The North Paddington Food Bank has been set up to address food poverty and are completely dependent on the goodwill of the local community. Every second Tuesday of each month the team at Paddington Central ask people to donate as many non-perishable items as possible, from the following list:
- Milk (UHT or powdered)
- Sugar (500g)
- Drinking/hot chocolate
- Tinned meat and meat stews
- Tinned fish
- Tinned vegetables & vegetable stews
- Toothpaste
- Soap
- Shower gel
- Deodorant
- Toilet Paper
- Coffee
- Pasta/curry sauces
- Tinned fruit
- Instant noodles
- Rice
- Jam/marmalade
- Biscuits
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Plum tomatoes
- Tea
- Tinned custard
- Tinned rice pudding
It couldn’t be easier. Pop an extra item into your basket when you're shopping for your lunch and pass over to the collection team outside Sainsbury’s Local in Sheldon Square. The North Paddington Food Bank will then distribute to people in the local community.
