An evening of watercolour and wellbeing by boat
Join us for a tranquil journey this June, as we invite you to board The Electric Barge – a unique social enterprise here in Paddington – for a free, early evening excursion.
On Wednesday 10 June, we will be hosting this water-based wellbeing event, open to all employees from our BID members.

Setting sail from Paddington at 5.30pm, you will spend 90 minutes learning about local industrial history on the canal and, inspired by the picturesque location, explore your creativity through a watercolour workshop.
During the trip participants will have the opportunity to:
- Study Regent’s Canal and its highlights through a giant map
- Hear about the development of the canal in Paddington, as Electric Barge crew share how, when and why the canal was built
- Learn about past navigation through the atmospheric Maida Hill Tunnel, before motorised engines were introduced
- Illustrate your own canal-inspired postcards using watercolour paints, as a memento of your trip

An Electric Barge by night; by day the space operates as The Floating Classroom – a learning space on water for local school children, young people and families, to learn about London’s waterways and green spaces. The space has recently undergone an extensive renovation and the event in June will be an opportunity to enjoy and admire the updated venue. The bar will be open throughout the event to purchase refreshments.

The event is free, but capacity is strictly limited and advanced booking is essential.
Looking forward to seeing you on the water.
